Ashley + Jeff had three words to describe their wedding day: simple, joy-filled, and thoughtful. The bridal party made their own floral bouquets, they had donuts for dessert, and most of the other vendors (DJ, MC, and day of coordinator) were all family friends. They started the day getting ready at their venue, The Leveling Mill Tribute House, where the bride and groom had their own spaces. We were able to take detail shots of morning of gifts from the MOB, heirloom postcards and pins passed down, along with the rings and flowers.
They wanted a first look, no matter what the temperature was! And boy did Ashley + Jeff deliver, because this first look is one for the books. Even in freezing temperatures, there was no mistaken how ecstatic these two were to be getting married.
Taken at the Belmont Plateau, their perfectly selected yet simple color scheme for the bridal party popped against the winter blue skyline of the city below. The ceremony took place at the St. John’s Episcopal Church just across the street, which made for some dramatic portraits.
After the ceremony, guests headed back to the Tribute House where a simple and thoughtful elegantly decorated reception took place. This album will sure have brides all over wanting a first look with a backdrop of the city just like Ashely + Jeff.
